چکیده

The Mars Microphone is one of the five measurement techniques SuperCam, an improved version ChemCam instrument that has been functioning aboard Curiosity rover for several years. SuperCam located on Rover's Mast Unit, to take advantage unique pointing capabilities rover's head. In addition being first record sounds Mars, can address original scientific objectives: study sound associated with laser impacts Martian rocks better understand their mechanical properties, improvement our knowledge atmospheric phenomena at surface Mars: turbulence, convective vortices, dust lifting processes and wind interactions itself. microphone will also help understanding signature different movements rover: operations robotic arm mast, driving rough floor monitoring pumps, etc ... was delivered team in early 2019 integrated Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL, Pasadena, CA) complete instrument. 2020 Mission launched July landed February 18th 2021. mission are expected last until least August 2023. operating perfectly.

Feature Detection Onboard Mars Rovers: Automated Cloud and Dust Devil Detection

Introduction: Recent explorations on the Martian surface have revealed an environment far more dynamic than previously believed. In particular, the atmosphere of Mars is very dynamic. Dust devils and clouds are dynamic atmospheric features that have been observed by the Mars Exploration Rovers (MER). These high science value events have been the subject of considerable study. Both dust devil an...

Seasonal Neutron-Flux Variations in the Polar Caps of Mars as Revealed by the Russian HEND Instrument Onboard the NASA 2001 Mars Odyssey Spacecraft

We analyze the flux of epithermal neutrons from the Martian surface recorded by the Russian HighEnergy Neutron Detector (HEND) from February 19 through December 19, 2002. The HEND was installed onboard the NASA 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft and is designed to measure neutron fluxes with energies above 1 eV. Over the period of observations, statistically significant variations in the flux of epit...

Simulation of Dust Sedimentation on the Calibration Targets for the Surface Stereo Imager Onboard the Phoenix Mars Lander

Introduction: The Phoenix Mars Lander 2007 mission will carry three identical calibration targets to verify and validate the preflight calibration of the Surface Stereo Imager (SSI) and to monitor the stability of this calibration during the mission. The specially designed calibration targets (‘the caltargets’) are at least in one respect more advanced than calibration targets on earlier missio...
